The Hungarian Government's Stipendium Hungaricum program is designed to support the internationalization of higher education institutions in Hungary as well as strengthen relations between academic institutions in Hungary and abroad. The University of Debrecen is considered to be one of the best universities in Hungary. It offers a wide range of study programs across all study categories. Students who wish to pursue an academic career can apply to the University Of Debrecon and study for free through their scholarship program.

Applicants who are applying for the scholarship program are subject to the following eligibility criteria:
Each applicant must submit a set of required documents in order to be eligible to receiving the scholarship. Check the required documents below before applying for the scholarship:
Applicants are required to submit a motivation letter that is at least 1-page. The motivation letter must be written by yourself about why you are applying for this scholarship, what you would you like to study and why you chose Hungary for your study abroad journey.
* PhD applicants to submit 2 recommendation letters, research plan and a supervisor's letter.
Applicants are required to submit school certificate: high school diploma for those applying for undergraduate degrees or bachelor/master degree certificate for those applying for graduate degrees. If your documents are not available at the time of filling out the scholarship application, applicants must submit a “Declaration about missing document” so that they can submit it no later than 30 August, 2023.
Applicants are required to submit a detailed official transcript of the degree they completed.
A proof of language proficiency is required with each application. Applicants must check the language requirements for their desired study program at the desired institution.

Submit a copy of your passport along with your documents.
A scanned copy of a medical certificate of satisfactory health condition issued not earlier than 15 November 2019. This can be any certificate that a particular hospital uses or a particular physician issues. Certificates have to be issued and signed by a physician to prove that the applicant does not have the following illnesses: AIDS, Hepatitis A, B, C, or any other epidemic condition.
